Record Books

What is a record book you ask? Well glad you asked!

Goal setting, record keeping, and reflection are important aspects of 4-H learning and positive youth development.

Keeping a 4-H record book aims to help youth:

  • Learn how to organize themselves
  • Learn how to set reasonable goals for themselves
  • Appreciate what they’ve learned each year from the goals they reached
  • Recognize what they learned in their 4-H projects
  • Explain what they’ve learned
  • Keep track of costs of their projects
  • Gather information needed to apply for awards and scholarships;  (You will find that having this information organized, make scholarship applications much easier to complete both 4-H related and non 4-H)
  • Complete applications and resumes for jobs and college
  • And yes, also meet requirements to participate in some county, state, or national 4-H events

Families can now create an account and manage their 4-H Record Books online.  Each 4-H member can have their own reports to access and update. Fill them out, print them out and turn them in to the Extension by September 15. Get started early! Set your goals for your projects at the beginning of the year. Record community service or leadership activities each month to make finishing your book easy!
