{"id":856,"date":"2015-08-27T10:32:42","date_gmt":"2015-08-27T16:32:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wyoming4h.org\/laramiecounty4htest\/?page_id=856"},"modified":"2022-08-10T15:34:04","modified_gmt":"2022-08-10T21:34:04","slug":"animal-projects","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.wyoming4h.org\/laramiecounty4htest\/project-information\/animal-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Animal Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 24pt;\"><strong>Animal Ownership Deadline<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Market Beef&#8211;February 1, 2022<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Market Goats, Swine, Sheep&#8211;June 1, 2022<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 18pt;\">All Market Sheep, Goats, and Swine animals must be tagged and information loaded into zSuite by 5 PM on June 1, 2022 to be eligible to show.\u00a0 <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><u>Livestock Import Policies<\/u><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">As you are purchasing your animals this spring please keep the following things in mind, especially if you purchase animals from outside of Wyoming.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">The Wyoming Livestock Board has policies in place regarding the importation of animals into the State of Wyoming to comply with federal regulations.\u00a0 They can be found at <a href=\"https:\/\/wlsb.state.wy.us\/editable-page\/animal-health\/downloadFile?filename=Chapter%208%20Livestock%20Board%20Import.pdf\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Livestock Board Import Rules<\/span><\/strong><\/a>. <em>Please review these recommendations <u>before<\/u> purchasing your animal from out of state so you can work with your buyer to ensure you comply with Wyoming regulations.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u>Swine Animals<\/u><\/span><\/strong>&#8211; In consultation with the State Vet\u2019s office, please share with families that do purchase swine from out-of state:<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Animals coming into Wyoming need to have an official USDA ear tag in their ear.\u00a0 They should be put in the ear by the producer. Additionally, the vet that inspects the animals before they are shipped to Wyoming should be calling the Wyoming State Vet\u2019s office to get an import permit number that is placed on the health papers (CVI).\u00a0<\/span>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Link to USDA official ear tag summary for ALL species. (Tables 4, 5, and 6 are most applicable to 4-H market swine projects from out of state).\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.aphis.usda.gov\/traceability\/downloads\/ADT_eartags_criteria.pdf\">Animal Traceability \/Official Ear tags<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">If a pig arrives in Wyoming from out-of-state without an ear tag, the 4-H member should contact their local veterinarian to inspect the animal and manage any other additional requirements.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\"><em>Again, these are for animals that are shipped into Wyoming from another state.\u00a0<\/em>If you have questions about the import policies\/requirements please contact the Wyoming Livestock Board.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"font-family: comic sans ms,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Laramie County\u00a04-H Animal Programs are open to all youth &#8211; with or without farm backgrounds.
